BJP Knew Nitish Kumar Was Ready To Exit, Didn’t Try To Stop Him

The BJP — dumped by Nitish Kumar in Bihar — has been maintaining radio silence regarding the events since yesterday. Sources in the party, however, said they see this as a betrayal and despite knowing the trajectory of events, did not try to convince Nitish Kumar.

Contrary to reports, top leaders did not contact Mr Kumar, sources said.

There have been reports that the party’s union minister Amit Shah had dialled Nitish Kumar and key state leaders had met him at his home.

By changing sides repeatedly, Nitish Kumar has “lost credibility”, sources said.
