Gurgaon Asked To Work From Home Today After Heavy Rain, Flooding

Heavy rain today resulted in waterlogging and traffic congestion in several parts of Gurgaon

New Delhi:

Gurgaon administration has advised private and corporate offices to work from home today due to a heavy rainfall prediction that could lead to traffic congestion. Heavy rain yesterday resulted in waterlogging and traffic congestion in several parts of the city.

The weather department has predicted moderate to heavy rain for today and also issued a ‘yellow alert’.

“In view of heavy rainfall prediction, there are chances of waterlogging and traffic congestion. Therefore, all corporate offices and private institutions in the district are advised to guide their employees to work from home so that traffic congestion can be avoided,” the Gurugram disaster management authority said in its advisory.

All schools and colleges have also been advised to stay closed.

The fresh spells of rains just before the withdrawal of monsoon from the National Capital Region will help cover the large deficit (46 per cent till September 22 morning) to some extent. It would also keep the air clean and the temperature in check.

The city recorded a minimum temperature of 23.8 degrees Celsius and a maximum temperature of 28 degrees Celsius today, seven notches below normal.
